Trying to cancel Netflix but the cancel button is missing? That’s because Verizon — not Netflix — is billing you, so you have to cancel Netflix billed through Verizon from your Verizon account. This guide finds your exact path in seconds and walks you through it.

How to Tell Which Path Applies

There are two ways Verizon bills your Netflix, and each needs a different cancel process. Check quickly:

  • Netflix Account → Membership & Billing. If it says your subscription is billed by Verizon, look at how. A “Plan Perk” ties to your phone plan. A “+play” subscription shows up as a separate Verizon add-on.
  • Your Verizon bill. A perk appears under your mobile plan line items. A +play subscription appears under the +play (marketplace) section.

Netflix’s own billed-through-a-partner support page confirms you can’t cancel inside Netflix when a third party is the biller.

Path A: Cancel a Verizon Plan Perk (Netflix & Max)

If Netflix came bundled as a plan perk on your mobile plan, cancel it in My Verizon:

Step 1

Open the My Verizon app or sign in at verizon.com.

Step 2

Go to Account → Add-ons & Apps (or Manage Plan → Perks).

Step 3

Find the Netflix & Max perk.

Step 4

Tap Remove and confirm.

ℹ️ Note: this perk is no longer available to add for new customers — only existing subscribers can keep or remove it.

Path B: Cancel Netflix via Verizon +play

If Netflix is a +play subscription, cancel it in the +play hub:

Step 1

Go to verizon.com/plus-play and sign in.

Step 2

Open My subscriptions.

Step 3

Select Netflix.

Step 4

Choose Cancel subscription and confirm.

⚠️ Bundle warning: If you subscribed to the Netflix + AMC+ bundle through +play, canceling removes both services. You can’t drop just one.

Watch Out For These Issues

  • No partial-month refunds. Access runs to the end of your current billing period, then stops. You won’t get money back for unused days.
  • Double-billing risk. If you also have a separate Netflix subscription charged directly to a card, canceling the Verizon one won’t touch it. Check your bank statement and cancel the extra one too.
  • MyPlan perk swaps. On a Verizon MyPlan, a perk you remove may need to be replaced — or you keep the monthly perk credit slot open. Removing Netflix doesn’t automatically lower your total unless you drop the perk entirely.

FAQ

Why can’t I cancel Netflix directly on Netflix.com?

Because Verizon is the merchant of record. Netflix hides the cancel button and routes billing changes to your provider, so you must cancel through Verizon.

Will I get a refund for unused days?

No. Netflix and Verizon don’t issue partial-month refunds. Your access continues until the billing cycle ends.

What if I’m on a Verizon MyPlan contract?

You can still remove the Netflix perk anytime — there’s no separate contract for the perk itself. Just know that removing it may free up (or leave empty) a perk slot rather than instantly cutting your bill.

Bottom Line

✅ Match your path first: cancel a plan perk in the My Verizon app under Add-ons, or cancel a +play subscription at verizon.com/plus-play under My subscriptions. Confirm the cancellation onscreen, then double-check no direct Netflix charge is still hitting your card.
